GENERAL MANAGER
Area Stage seeks an experienced General Manager with a background in finance/accounting to oversee the daily operations and strategic growth of our organization. Reporting to the Artistic Director and Executive Director, the General Manager will ensure the efficient management of resources, programs, and personnel while advancing our mission of artistic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
Collaborate with the Artistic Director, Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans.
Serve as a leader and advocate for Area Stage’s mission and programs within the community.
Operations & Finance:
Oversee budgets, financial planning, and grant management, ensuring sustainability and growth.
Manage contracts, payroll, and vendor relationships.
Personnel Management:
Supervise administrative staff, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Support program delivery and operational needs.
Development & Marketing:
Collaborate with the team to support fundraising efforts, including but not limited to Give Miami Day and grant applications.
Work with Marketing to promote programming, increase visibility, and grow audiences.
Program Management:
Coordinate schedules, facilities, and resources for productions, classes, and special events.
Ensure alignment between operational goals and artistic programming.
Qualifications
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
Proven experience in arts management, nonprofit leadership, or related fields.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for the performing arts and a commitment to excellence.
Knowledge of Miami’s arts and culture landscape is a plus.

Marketing manager
Reports To: Executive Director, working closely with Artistic Director and Conservatory Director
Job Summary: The Marketing Manager will oversee and execute marketing strategies to promote Area Stage and its programs and productions, enhancing audience engagement and driving ticket sales. This role requires a creative and analytical thinker with a passion for the arts and a deep understanding of marketing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy Development:
- Create and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote theatre productions, events, and programming
- Identify target audiences and develop strategies to reach them effectively
Campaign Management:
- Design, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, social media, email, and community outreach
- Manage advertising efforts in local and national media and online platforms to maximize visibility and attendance
Content Creation:
- Develop promotional materials, including posters, brochures, press releases, and digital content
- Collaborate with team to ensure brand consistency and artistic alignment
Audience Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance audience engagement and retention, including loyalty programs and special events
- Create surveys and gather feedback to improve future programming
Social Media Management:
- Manage the theatre company's social media presence, creating engaging content that sparks dialogue and interest in upcoming shows
- Monitor social media trends and audience interactions to adjust strategies accordingly
Partnerships and Community Relations:
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to foster partnerships and cooperative marketing opportunities
- Represent Area Stage at community events and networking functions
Budget Management:
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and tracking expenditures against budgeted amounts
Performance Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance using key metrics and analytics tools to assess effectiveness and ROI
- Prepare regular reports to present findings and recommendations to management
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor marketing staff/interns, fostering a creative and collaborative work environment
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, development) to align marketing initiatives with organizational goals
- Recruit Marketing Interns from local universities to meet job demands
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the arts or entertainment sectors
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and techniques, including digital marketing and social media strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in design, marketing software and tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, Google Analytics, CRM systems, social media platforms)
- Passion for the arts and a strong understanding of theatre and performing arts

The Conservatory offers professional training for young actors, singers, and dancers, ages six and up, developing the next generation of theatre artists and preparing them for higher education performing arts programs and/or a professional career, or those who enjoy the performing arts as a complimentary activity.
We are looking to add highly qualified and enthusiastic voice instructors, acting instructors, and dance instructors to join our team of dedicated theatre educators. More than just a teaching position, this hands-on position makes you an integral part of the day-to-day operations of our Conservatory and the discovery, development and artistic growth of our students. ASC coaches are passionate about bringing their experiences and expertise into the classroom, whether it be directing our Conservatory productions, crafting and teaching engaging group classes, or mentoring individual students through their artistic growth in private lessons. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in their field, as well as an understanding of repertoire and pedagogy through documented teaching experience.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and education.
Starting rate $25/hr
Schedule:
Lessons & classes may be scheduled 2-9 pm M-F and 10-5 Sat.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, age and level-appropriate musical theatre-style instruction.
Prepare students for recitals, performances, and auditions.
Maintain open communication with students and staff and strictly follow all ASC guidelines and procedures.
Be professional, prompt, and proactive.
Experience/Education:
Minimum of 3 years of formal instruction in your area via private instruction, a university program, or a professional program.
Voice instructors should be able to play piano at a basic level so as to accompany students in warm-up exercises and teach song melodies.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, grade school K-12 childhood education, classroom management, and special education in an Artistic based program.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in education or child-related field
- Current State of Florida certified teachers registration preferred
- DCF registration and training up to date, Staff Credential preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Experience with Differentiated Literacy Instruction and evaluation practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish evaluation and testing processes in line with and supporting the ASC Artistic curriculum and class offerings.
Interact with and support Artistic teaching staff in guiding student progression in individual and group learning activities.
Build relationships with students, check in with the students individually, gain an understanding of their difficulties and successes in their academic pursuits
Evaluate students students schoolwork/homework habits and guide students on framing the objective of their assignments
Guide students approach, organization and time management habits
Establish with the student what the success factors are
Guide collaborative and individual actions to be taken by a student or the group
Model a relative and specific examples for the students, problem solving approach, what are the steps of the process
Encourage students to explain how they approached and resolved difficult scenarios
Assess student progress through evaluation, sharing the results with the parents so they can reinforce the positive habits and methods learned
Document testing results to satisfy scheduled and required evaluation cycles

Carpenter
AREA STAGE is looking for a Scenic Carpenter with the following skills:
3-5 years experience as a Carpenter
Able to build scenic flats, additional scenic elements
Ability to work as a team player, the ability to multi-task, and maintain a positive attitude.
Physically able to manage lifting/moving up to 50 lbs or more
Good understanding of tools and materials used in a scenic carpentry shop.
Always keep a neat, clean, and orderly workspace
Responsible for fabrication and installation of scenic elements.
Bonus if you have knowledge of :
Scenic painting
Also looking for carpentry assistants.

ITP Coach
Area Stage is looking for dedicated Acting Coaches to join its Inclusion Theatre Program (ITP)!
ASC's Inclusion Theatre Project (ITP) serves actors across South Florida with developmental and intellectual disabilities who are eager to develop their talents. ITP originated from our belief that training in the performing arts teaches vital tools for life, reaching participants through multi-modal classes within the musical theatre medium and helping them on their journey as they move towards adulthood. Our coaches also travel to local schools to provide on-site training to individuals who might otherwise not have the opportunity to explore and access their natural abilities through the arts.
This is a great job for actors with flexible schedules who are looking to give back to their community. Background in Drama Therapy NOT required, just an open mind and a kind heart.
