The sky’s the limit when it comes to what the future might hold for the talented alumni of Area Stage Company’s conservatory! For proof, you can just look to past student Marilyn Caserta, who, after spending many of her childhood and teenage years receiving theatre training at ASC, went on to become a professional actress living in New York. Now, she is not only making her Broadway debut in the hit musical Six, but was recently named among those performers that are to be honored at this year’s Theatre World Awards.
Founded by John Willis and first presented in 1945, these prestigious awards are given every year to honor twelve performers making significant debut performances in Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. As a Special Award Honoree, Caserta is being recognized as an “Outstanding Swing.”
After earlier appearing in several of our conservatory productions, Caserta last appeared at ASC in our 2018 professional production of Cabaret, a performance that, as noted on her website, was described as stunning, superb, and vivacious by local critics.
We’re certainly all delighted to hear about her success, and confident that this is only the start of an amazing career to come. For more news about what all of our amazing alumni have been up to, be sure to check back at our blog!
