If you’ve been waiting with bated breath to hear about what’s in the cards next year for Area Stage’s Conservatory, you’re in luck! Though all titles are under consideration, we’ve announced a projected season that will include seven different productions of three exciting musicals that we know will give our students a chance to shine.
Area Stage wins Best Theatre Company 2023!
Every year, Miami New Times helps our city to recognize the richness of its cultural landscape
by acknowledging some of the coolest things in our city, both via their own assessment and
through asking their readers which institutions they believe are the best ones around.
And given a slew of past wins in the category— in 1992, 1993, 1997, 2019, 2020, 2022— it’s no
surprise that Area Stage Company is the one readers chose as the Best Theater Company of
2023!

ASC Conservatory Student Addison Stone Honored With Prestigious Scholarship
Coming on the heels of Marilyn Caserta’s recent selection for a prestigious Theatre World Award, another ASC student is celebrating a tremendous honor. It was recently announced that ASC conservatory student Addison Stone was selected by the Carbonell Awards committee to receive the Jack Zink Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded each year to three exceptional graduating seniors who plan to pursue theatre or journalism. Recipients are selected based on talent, experience, and demonstrated commitment to their chosen art form, and one student each is selected from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
ASC Alumni Marilyn Caserta To Be Honored With Theatre World Award
The sky’s the limit when it comes to what the future might hold for the talented alumni of Area Stage Company’s conservatory! For proof, you can just look to past student Marilyn Caserta, who, after spending many of her childhood and teenage years receiving theatre training at ASC, went on to become a professional actress living in New York. Now, she is not only making her Broadway debut in the hit musical Six, but was recently named among those performers that are to be honored at this year’s Theatre World Awards.
